This Week - September 14-18

Dear Families,

This week in Kindergarten we went to the gym and to the library. On Wednesday, we celebrated Dot Day! We made dot necklaces with jewels.
We played with pom poms.

We read the book The Dot by Peter Reynolds and Ten Black Dots by Donald Crews. We used black dots to make pictures and stories for our best writing wall. It was a great day!

Here are some more great books we read this week.
We started to do some artwork for the Markham fair. We are making a farm mural based on the song '1-2-3 It's a Farmer's Life for Me!'  Find it Here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sr1sQ7kGYlY

We have cows, pigs, horses, sheep, fences, chickens, grass, and farmers.

We still need some dogs, mud, and a barn.

Love,
The Bluejays

PS - We are also hoping to paint faces on some harvest vegetables beginning Wednesday to enter in the School Children's Art Competition. Please send in a small vegetable (pumpkin, gourd, beet, carrot, etc) if you would like to participate.

Our First Week in Kindergarten!

Dear Families,

We are the Bluejays! We had an amazing week in Kindergarten!

The SKs played in the big yard and the JKS played in the small yard. We played tag and we played with the balls and the trucks and streamers. In our garden, we saw our sunflower bloom.

In our classroom, our favourite centre is the Snack Centre!! We also had fun at the Construction, Sensory, Drawing, Let's Pretend, and Play-Dough Centres.

We read a lot of stories together.

Love,
The Bluejays!
