Dear Families,
Here is what we did this week!
Love,
The Blue jays
Smoothies
We have turned our Water/Sensory table into a Smoothie Station. We put fruit, cups and spoons in the water. We learned the 5 steps to making a smoothie too!
Bakery
We are turning our Let's Pretend Centre into a Bakery. It will be called 'Sweet Bakery'. The Bakery will need Cashiers, a Baker, and Customers. We learned the Baker bakes the food, the Cashier gives the money, and the Customer eats the food.
We have bowls for making the cake batter, and trays to put the cookies in the oven. We have named our Bakery but we are still working on the shop.
Assembly
We had our Kinder Star Assembly today. We sang with another class. We had fun dancing and singing to 'Tony Chestnut'. Our favourite part is singing about Tony's friend, Bob.
Concert
Our Spring Dreams Kinder Concert is next Thursday! We have lots of songs to sing! We are singing 'Oh Canada' and 'Baby Beluga' and a song called 'We All Sing with the Same Voice'. We hope to see our Moms and Dads there!
Grad Photos
On Wednesday our Blue jays took their graduation photos. We put on robes and graduation hats and we got to hold a diploma and a frame.
This Blog is a space where the learning in our classroom can be celebrated! Our SK students (The Bluejays) will document their learning here by listing, planning, photographing, and writing to you about the highlights of our week, though the eyes of the students.

Our Week February 16 - 19
Hi Families,
This was a short but busy week! Enjoy!
Love, The Bluejays!
Maps
Ms. Boag has a new house! We looked at her maps. There were maps of streets and maps of inside her house.
Maps help you to know where you are. We found the Go station, Toronto, and Lots of roads!
We all made poems. Here is one of them:
Play-Dough
We have some new play-dough. We have hot pink, light purple, and tangerine orange. We have been having fun with it. Play-dough is our favourite!
On our nature we saw lots of snow. We saw tracks and we followed the. We went to see our bird feeders in the forest. We discovered that the birds and squirrels ate most of the fruit was gone! One feeder had only one blueberry left!
Building with Boxes
A student made a CN Tower out of boxes for Construction Land. He used 2 tissue boxes and 1 cylinder box, and he made a cone out of paper.

I wish I had 100 Moms.
I wish I had 100 video games.
I wish I had 100 friends.
But I wouldn't want 100 snakes!

Our Week in Kindergarten February 8 - 12
Hi Everyone,
This week has been full of celebrations! With Chinese New Year, Valentine's Day, Family Day, and the Hundredth Day of School, February is becoming a busy month!
Valentine Bags
We decorated bags for everyone in the class. The bags are for us to put treats and cards in for our classmates. We all have different kinds of cards. Some are Avengers, Minions, Batman, Sports, and Paw Patrol!
Chinese New Year
We celebrated Chinese New Year on Monday. We enjoyed playing a new game 'Mah Jong'. The special tiles had pictures and numbers on them that we sorted. We also tried painting Chinese characters for the numbers 1 to 9.
Our Flower
We have a flower that we planted in January. It is now 36 blocks tall. It has 4 blooms. The first one bloomed on Chinese New Year. We read in a book that if your flowers bloom on Chinese New Year, your house will be filled with good luck!
The last one bloomed on Pajama Day!
Ryan's Game
A Bluejay boy in our class created a new game for us to try. It is called 'Counting to 6'. We all sit in a circle and count. If our number is 5 - you sit in the middle. If our number is 6 - we get to tap someone on the head and they have to switch spots.
Pajama Day Dance Party
We always like Pajama Days! We feel cozy. We had fun!
Our Dance Party is after recess. All six of the Kindergarten classes get to go! We get to go in the big gym and listen to our favourite songs. We like One Direction, Gummi Bears, and Gangnam Style!

Our Week in Kindergarten February 2 - 5
Here's what happened this week!
Winter birds never give up on finding food. We made bird feeders to help them. We gave the birds raisins, blueberries, and grapes. We put the fruit on wires in a pattern and then we put them on trees. They are hanging on trees in our woodlot.
On Thursday we saw a band with big drums. They played music from South America and taught us about Carnival. They had many kinds of instruments. We had fun dancing to salsa music.
Construction Land now has parking lots and cars. The people in the Land can now drive to the places they need to go - like the new beach! We noticed that Construction Land had no water in it, so we made a beach! There is even an airport too!
We are working very hard on making bicycles. We are making them using straws. They are long bicycles for 3 people. We made our bikes into groups of 3 We also made water bottles but took them off because they were too heavy. We have made 5 bicycles altogether and have 1 more to go.
We are learning to say hello in different languages. Each morning we greet each other in a new way. We have learned to say Ni Hao (from China), Namaste (from Nepal), Hola (from Mexico), and Salaam (from Pakistan).
**If you know another way to say hello - send it in your child's folder!
