Our Week - March 27-31

Hi Families,

Our Concert is fast approaching and we have been busy practicing and creating artwork and decorations. 

Here are some stories from our week.

Pizza Shop
At our Pizza Shop we have waiters and chefs. The waiters job is to show the menu and take the orders. The chef follows the order and makes the pizza. Then the customer gets to eat it! 

3 Little Pigs Plays

Coding Piggies
We used Cozmo our Ozobot to retell 3 Little Pigs this week. He was the big bad wolf. We made him a maze and code so that he would walk through a little pig land while we told the story.


Board Games
We have new board games at our math centre this week. We have to look at the dice and carefully move the piece to the right spot. 
                     



Tulips
We were so excited this week to see that our tulips have begun to grow in our Kinder-Gardens. We have to be careful not to touch them while they are growing because we want to find out what beautiful colours they will be.

Word Family
Our new word family ending sound this week was 'UN'. We made words using magnet letters.

Kinder Star Assembly
On Tuesday we had our March Kinder Star Assembly. It was fun to watch the other classes present 'Let's go Fly a Kite'.

Our Week - March 20 - 24

Hi Again Families,
We took a week off for March Break and now are back to work!

The Three Little Piggy Show
We are performing our Three Little Pigs Plays today and next week. We all chose a character. We have narrators, Wolves, 3 Little Pigs, and Mamma/Papa Pigs. Be sure to check your online portfolios for these plays! 
                    

Learning about the Dentist
We are learning about the Dentist and about brushing our teeth. You need to brush your teeth 2 times a day - once in the morning and once at night - so you and your teeth will be healthy. 

Welcome to our Pizza Shop!
We made a restaurant called 'Peza Shop'. We made a menu with all sorts of toppings like olives, cheese, and pineapple. Our toppings are on a shelf in boxes and we need to sort them so they don't get mixed up.

                      



Find It Bingo!
We have a new math game this week called Find it Bingo! You need playing cards, a dice, and chips. You roll the dice and if you have that number you get a chip. When your card is full you say Bingo!

Our Class Pet
We have a new fish in our class. We got him from Ms. Harcharik. He has toys in his tank like a plant and a castle. We didn't name it yet. Do you have any ideas?

Our Concert!

We have been busy planning our concert and it will soon be here! We are performing a dance and a song in french! Our tickets are now on sale. All money raised will go towards our school's new Memory Garden which our class will help to plant later in the Spring! We hope to see you there!

Our Week - March 6 - 10

Hi Families,

We have made it to March Break! Have a safe and happy holiday and we will see you back at school on March 20th! Here are our stories!

We are working on making our  play of our own. We are doing the Three Little Pigs! We chose Three Little Pigs because we saw Pigmania and we really liked it! This week we worked together to write our own story, make masks, and make houses.

 

We are making a Pizza store at the Let's Pretend centre. We made toppings like olives, cheese, peppers, and pineapple for our pizzas.

On Wednesday our school had a visit from the Town of Markham Waste management services. They showed us how much garbage our school creates in a day! It was so much!! We were surprised to find our that a lot of our garbage can be recycled! We now have a green bin in our room and we are figuring out how to sort our waste into the 3 bins!

Friday was Beach Day. It was fun to wear hats, sunglasses, goggles, and bathing suits to school and to sit on blankets under umbrellas. 

We are having a concert on April 6. We are excited that our families are coming! We have decided to do a dance and we are making the dance ourselves. We also started to practice a french song for the concert.

Our Week - February 27 - March 3

Hi Families,

March Break is almost here! Here are some stories from our week.

We are making an Ozobot maze in our construction centre. We put Ozobot on the lines and he moves. We made a parking lot for 'Cozmo' to keep him safe. He cannot go on the floor.

 

On Tuesday, we had our Kinder Star Assembly. We did a play called Handa's Surprise with Ms. Bucci's class. We hope you liked it!

On Wednesday, we had SK graduation photos and all the Bluejays had white shirts and they got to wear special black hats and a black shirt. We took photos for our graduation in June. 

On Thursday, we went on a big school bus to see a show. It was Pigmania! It was a show about the 'Three Little Pigs'. The pigs each built a house and then the big, bad wolf came to blow their houses down. He tried to blow down the brick house, but he couldn't so he went down the chimney! We got to howl with the wolf and dance too! It was a funny show. Some people laughed when we scared the wolf! We really liked the pig that made the straw house, because she could hula hoop and she did tricks.

We made 4 books at school in February. It is fun to make books. Our favourite is our February Book which is all about the things we did in February.
