Chapter Books
We are reading chapter books together. Last week we finished 'Butterfly Battle'. Now we are reading 'Dinosaur Detective'. They are both Magic School Bus Chapter Books!
Marker Sort
On Tuesday we sorted markers into piles of 10 and put an elastic around them. We counted by 10's becaue it's faster than counting by 1's and we wanted to find out how many we had. We ended up with 791 markers! We sent them to Crayola colour cycle this week!Lid Sort
After our marker sort, we brought the lids into our classroom. We sorted by colour and made a list of how many colours we had and how many of each colour there were. It was not easy but our friends worked together and counted each colour. Then we added them on a calculator. We counted 600 lids! Jiggi Jump
On Thursday we went to Jiggi Jump! We did lots of dancing and lots of running but nobody was tired because it was so much fun! We also did lots of singing! Jiggi Jump is so fun because we get to jump and dance. We got to play beach ball bop too! The girl was named Jayme but we don't remember the boy's name.
Our Public Library Visit!
We visited Ryan the librarian in our library upstairs. We learned that the has library video games, books,and movies, and we can borrow them if we have a library card!
Bye Bye Butterflies!
We released out butterflies on Wednesday. We needed to let them go so carefully so they didn't get hurt. It was a bit windy so we released them in the forest. We left them some oranges too. A Very Hungry Caterpillar
A soon as we let go of our Painted Ladies, we found a new caterpillar on the leaves! We named him the Very Hungry Caterpillar because he eats so much! It is a different kind of caterpillar called a Tent Caterpillar.
We have decided to make a very hungry caterpillar show of our own. We are using play dog to make the pictures.
