With March Break a day away we wish everyone a safe and happy holiday! We will not see you until April so be sure to read lots of books, take time to go outside, write in your March Break journal, look for environmental print and collect pictures, and have lots of fun!
Here are some stories from March.
Favourite Stories
Students have been encouraged to bring in a book from home that they love to read. It may be a book they read on their own or they may read it with their family. We have had so many wonderful books come into our class so far! Everyone's favourite is so different! We are working on making a book of all our favourite books.
Bluejay Graduation
Our Bluejays went to the multipurpose room to get photos taken for graduation. It was so exciting to put on the black cape and hat - we felt so big!
Our Fish Tank
We noticed that our fish tank was looking a little bit green. Ms. Boag got a special pump and vaccuum that we used to clean the tank. Now it is sparkly clean! We also decided it was time to name our fishy friends. We made a sign to label the fish. Our snail is named Shelly and the 3 fish are named Tiny, Curly, and Speedy. They are going to Ms. Boag's house for the March Break!
Our Castle
We said goodbye to our castle this week. We have had so much fun learning about the people who live in the castle and the different things you would find inside.
Worm Watch
We checked on our worm composters this week and they looked great! All the food and newspaper we gave them in January is gone and now there is only dirt! We added new food and newspaper so the worms are ready to relax on March Break!
Chicka Chicka Alphabet
We got our final 4 letters this week so we have officially finished our alphabet! We never got the letter Q so Mrs. Harcharik's class gave us a copy of theirs! We are so proud of our alphabet and we have learned a lot about letters!
Sand Drawing
The Chickadees worked with Ms. Ancona this week and made their own 'Etch a Sketch'. They used their fingers to make letters, numbers, and pictures in the sand.
Nature Walk Fun
On Tuesday, it was very rainy. We read the book 'This Beautiful Day' and decided that even a grey and cloudy rainy day could be beautiful so we went outside searching for beautiful. We watched the Canada Geese playing on the grass, we listened to the pitter patter of the rain, stomped our boots into muddy puddles, and listened to the squishy sound the grass makes when it is wet.
