Hi Families,
February is a month full of celebrations and friendship and that is so true for our week! We hope you all enjoy a day with your families on Monday and we will see you Tuesday!
Remember that Friday, February 22nd is our school's winter Carnaval so dress warmly!!
Here are some stories from the week.
Lunar New Year
Last week, we celebrated Lunar New Year by making a Lion for the Lion Dance! We painted a box with red and gold and used egg cartons and tissue paper to make eyes, ears, and fur. We walked in a parade around the whole school with the other Kindergarten classes dancing and making noise!
100 Days of School
Monday was our 100th day of school! Some friends brought in collections to share with the class. Each collection had 100 items. We had feathers, buttons, stickers, hair ties and more! It was interesting to see that 100 things can be small or very big!
Dance Day
Thursday was our school's first ever Dance Day! Our class got to go to the gym first for dance day! We practised new dances all week and taught them to the other Kindergarten classes.
Here are the dances we learned (maybe we can show you at home)
Cha Cha Slide
Macarena
Bunny Hop
Conga
Hat Dance
Kinder Post
While we got ready for Valentine's Day, we made a post office in our classroom. We read stories about mail carriers and learned what mail is and how we can send and receive things. We created letters for our families and for our friends. We really like making notes!
Valentine's Day
Thursday was Valentine's Day. Some friends brought cards for each other and we got to deliver them. In the afternoon we looked in our Valentine mail bags to see the different cards and to read our friends' names.
